The Hand That Held the Light: A Tribute to Esther (Aziza bat Yakut)
A Heritage of Resilience In a world where many speak of their mothers-in-law with friction or fatigue, I find myself standing in a different light. For me, it is the opposite. I am dedicating the Sages & Souls collection to a woman who was the vibrant, yet profoundly gentle anchor of my world: my late mother-in-law, Esther (Aziza bat Yakut).
Now, anyone familiar with Moroccan matriarchs knows they are a force of nature, but Esther carried that strength with a rare delicacy. She wasn’t "loud" in the way many expect; she was a woman of high frequency who lived with a quiet integrity and a gentle modesty. Her presence was a "whisper" of ancient wisdom-a soft but steady light that filled the room without ever needing to shout.
From the Ma’abarot to the Light Esther’s "Homecoming" wasn't a journey toward luxury, but toward truth. She lived through the days of the Ma’abarot, the transit camps where families were housed in tin huts that offered little protection against the world. In those shacks, where the summer was stifling and the winter was bitter, she helped build the foundation of a nation.
I remember the jovial arguments we would have every time we booked a flight to Europe or Thailand. Esther, in her gentle way, simply didn’t understand the need to leave. To her, Eretz Yisrael wasn't just a destination; it was the miracle she had spent her youth dreaming of. She would look at us and ask with total sincerity, "Everything is here. What did you lose there?" The Mama Dialli Collection In honor of her, we have named this line the Mama Dialli Collection. In the Moroccan tradition, "Dialli" translates to "ours" or "belonging to me." We chose this name because Esther belonged to us, and we to her. This collection is a dedication to her and to all the strong matriarchs who are the glue, the bond, and the rock. They are the anchors who hold the family together through the good and the bad, turning a house into a sanctuary of spirit.

The Vessels of Her Legacy Every piece in this collection is an Aliyah-a continuous elevation—for the soul of Aziza bat Yachut:
-
The Radiant Anchor: Dedicated to the matriarch who is the "Soul of the Kitchen." It represents the woman who holds the family bond together, steady and unmoving through every season.
-
The Vine of Lineage: A tribute to the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who are the living branches of her strength. It reflects the heritage she carried from Morocco and planted firmly in the soil of Eretz Yisrael.
-
The Garden of Grace: Capturing the softness Esther maintained even when life was a freezing winter in a tin shack. It symbolizes the resilience of a woman who turns a desert into a garden.
-
The Eternal Pulse: Dedicated to the steady, rhythmic heartbeat of her hospitality. It reflects her belief that "everything is here" in the Land—that there was no need to look elsewhere for what was already beating in the heart of the home.
She was the "Old Hand" that guided us and the whisper of truth behind every grain of gold we craft.
